Folk Sopgs about Revolution

The folk song i chose was Dear Old Donegal.
This song was generally talking about an Irish wanderer who traveled to New York. Apparently, his "Irish luck" has brought him fortune and riches. As he went back to Erin's Isle in Ireland, his grandfather met him on the port with a smile. After he returned to his home, he shook hands with his close family members. As he met tons of people including, Branigan, Fannigan, Milligan, Gilligan, Duffy, McCuffy, Malachy, Mahone, and alot more. As he met all these people, he felt welcomed back to the dear old Donnegal.

Duty or Friendship?

If i was forced to choose between betraying a duty or a friend, i would definitely choose to betray the duty. Betraying a friend would most likely lead to the end of the friendship between your friend and you, but if you betray a duty, there might be possibility of a second chance that will be given to you. Friendship is also one of the most important things that a person need. Friends are people who care about you, helps you when your in trouble or if you have a problem. Basically people who you need to have a good life. Duties are jobs that are needed to be done. Which compare to friendship, are not AS important. Even though you might get fired if you don't finish a duty that your boss gave you, but friends always backs you up. You friend might help you get a new job or even your original job back. Since you betrayed your duty for your friend. Duties and jobs are things that you can get back easier when comparing to friends, and to me, I would rather spend time looking for jobs then looking for friends. In fact, if you were given the same amount of time, there might be a higher possibility of finding a job than finding a good friend. Also, true friends are irreplaceable.

Under Pressure

When under pressure, people normally perform a lot worse than they would without pressure. There are some qualities that can make people perform well under pressure. Qualities such as having a strong will at what you are trying to achieve. By having a strong will, you want to achieve your goal no matter what. It is like you have to achieve it before you die, or else you'll be extremely regretful or something. This quality would make you achieve a much better performance while under pressure. If you are in a life and death situation, like the sniper in the story, The Sniper. The sniper was facing a near-to-death experience. Which made him perform better under the extreme pressure. Since he doesn't now want to die, so he focused on trying to achieve what he wanted, other than being pressurized which will affect on you performance. In the story, he also got shot in the arm, but he did not give up. This is another thing that will happen to a person with a strong will, which is to not give up. These qualities can make a person perform better under pressure, since it is the only thing they want to achieve during that time period, therefore putting all your focus on achieving the goal.

Blog - Vengeance

There are a variety of reasons why people tend to seek revenge on others. The most common reason is because of being upset by something the other person did. You feel the unfairness, from the person, this is what cause the revenge. It makes you feel that you should do something in order to let the person feel or become in the same position as you, or worse. For example, if someone punches you, you might want to let the person who punched you feel the same way as you are. Which causes a feeing for revenge, and normally the revenge is to punch the person back. Making someone feel the same as you are after a revenge may led you feel a little better, but sometimes it brings negative things too. Obsession with vengeance can lead to tragedy pretty easily. Causing revenges can cause problems between the two people, or the person who executed the revenge would get in trouble. With the punching example again, here's an explanation on why revenges get you tragedy. If you get punched, the moment right after you get punched,  the person who punches you are most likely to be in trouble for doing that. If you feel the need for punching him back, and you did, now both of you are in trouble for punching each other. At first, you may let the other guy to be in trouble, but now, you are the one who's in trouble too.

Quickwrite - Envy

Every one had felt envy before, feeling that the grass on the other side of the fence is greener, or simply saying that feeling that someone else's life is better than what you have. Someone having something that you wanted does not mean that his or her life is better than yours. There might be several ways he or she would have gotten it. He or she might have worked for the money, or accomplished something which made he or her deserves the item. This is similar to the saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover", as in that something might not be what you think when you saw its appearance or before you even know about it. After you get in that person's position, you will understand that it is not as good as you think from the other side of the fence. Someones else might be thinking that your life is better than his or hers, and you might not think so yourself. Assuming things are not always the best thing to do, misunderstandings can happen easily. For example, when I saw my friends buying new things constantly, I envied him a little. But he actually made his own money from working part-time jobs. This shows that never to assume something without making sure what really happened.
